The FA Premier League Football Manager 99 is the first game to be released in the The FA Premier League Football Manager series. It was developed by Electronic Arts and released in 1998.
The game is known for being riddled with bugs, such as crashing back to desktop at a particular date, usually within 3 seasons. Even when loading a previous game, the game will still crash at that date, thus forcefully ending the game.
Also some save games become unloadable, making constant and multiple saves a recommendation.
Other oddities included the tendency for Manchester United to be relegated in the first season of the game (1998-99) and Bury being promoted to the FA Premier League in the very same season.
A further problem were the significantly long injuries frequently experienced by players, in terms of thousands of days, presumably when the player had been 'killed' off the game.
